'Boss, your ears are donkey ears' will feature dessert king Chef Choi Gyu-sung unveiling a golden truffle cake for the first time.
KBS2 'Boss, your ears are donkey ears' (hereinafter 'Sadanggwi') is a voluntary role-reversal and self-reflection program by Korea's bosses to create workplaces where people enjoy working. The last episode recorded a peak viewership rating of 7.7%, continuing a high ratings streak as the No. 1 entertainment program in its time slot for 182 consecutive weeks. (Nielsen Korea)
On the 7th episode airing, 'Sadanggwi' will feature Park Myung-soo meeting high-end dessert king Chef Choi Gyu-sung as part of a 'walking to the boss's house' year-end special. That day Park Myung-soo enters the world of high-end desserts, which approaches works of art, with Weki Meki's Choi Yu-jeong. As Park Myung-soo continues an onslaught of eating broadcasts, repeatedly saying "It's delicious. It's delicious" amid the lovely, excitement-filled feast of desserts, Kim Sook erupts in protest, saying "Try expressing the taste more." In response, Park Myung-soo explains with upgraded expressions such as "a sophisticated taste" and "a luxurious taste," causing an uproar in the studio.
Chef Choi Gyu-sung, who captivated Park Myung-soo's palate that day, was the first Asian to be given the chef title at Pierre Hermé in France. He also served as head chef for a global luxury brand in Korea, earning him the title of dessert king.
However, Choi Gyu-sung recalls, "After I went to France, my first job paid 1,400,000 won as a monthly salary. At that time more than half went to rent. But because many people said they would work without pay for experience, they didn't hire foreigners," he said, remembering his first job. He went on to confess, "At that time when I was cursed at, I worked without even knowing whether the language was racially discriminatory," revealing the background of how he became a top chef after going through difficult times. Jun Hyun-moo responded, "You went through a lot," expressing empathy.
Chef Choi Gyu-sung is said to reveal for the first time the golden truffle cake he is currently preparing, arousing curiosity. Because the truffles used in the cake and the expensive gold raise the price to a whopping 200,000 won. Faced with the golden truffle cake's ultra-high price and gorgeous appearance, Park Myung-soo could not hide his admiration, saying, "This is the first time I've been this happy while doing Sadanggwi."
That day's ornate desserts that reduced Park Myung-soo's expressive range to "It's delicious" and Chef Choi Gyu-sung's candid stories will be revealed on KBS2's 'Boss, your ears are donkey ears,' airing on the 7th.
