Comedian Park Narae, who has been embroiled in additional allegations including embezzlement and illegal medical practices following abuse of power, will appear on Amazing Saturday as scheduled.
On the 6th, tvN's Amazing Saturday told OSEN, "Amazing Saturday will be broadcast as scheduled today."
Earlier, Park Narae became the subject of controversy starting on the 4th. Park Narae's former managers filed a real estate seizure application against Park Narae and also warned of a lawsuit seeking about 100 million won in damages, alleging harm suffered during their employment.
At the time, the former managers alleged workplace harassment by Park Narae, special injury, proxy prescriptions, and nonpayment of appearance fees. They also said that one manager was verbally abused for not drinking alcohol and was injured when a drinking glass was thrown. Later, additional allegations emerged that Park Narae's one-person agency had operated without registering as a popular culture and arts planning business.
In response, Park Narae's agency Anpark Co., Ltd. rebutted, saying, "Two employees who worked with Park Narae for about one year and three months recently left the company, and severance pay was paid normally. However, after receiving severance pay, those employees additionally demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the company's previous year's sales," and "registration as a popular culture and arts planning business was a responsibility handled by the former employees who raised the issue, and it appears they falsely reported at the time that all registration procedures had been completed. After leaving the company, they provided this information to the media, and our company became accurately aware of the situation through related media inquiries."
They added, "As time went on, they added new claims and continued to pressure Park Narae and our company, and the demanded amounts gradually increased to several tens of millions of won. Park Narae is suffering great mental distress and shock from the sudden departures of employees she worked with, the baseless claims that followed, the increasing monetary demands, and the media pressure," and sued the former managers on charges including extortion.
Amid these explanations, Park Narae appeared on MBC's Save Me! Homes and I Live Alone without edits. But it was later revealed that Park Narae had been reported on embezzlement charges, and on the 6th ahead of the Amazing Saturday broadcast, circumstances that supported the allegations of "illegal medical practices" surfaced, adding to the controversy. In this context, Amazing Saturday said regarding whether it would cancel or edit the broadcast, "It will be broadcast as scheduled."
Meanwhile, Park Narae's side denied the embezzlement allegations as "clear falsehoods," and regarding the allegations of "illegal medical practices," said, "After comprehensively reviewing relevant materials, the parties' statements and conversations, and text messages, there is nothing legally problematic about Park Narae's medical treatment," and explained, "Because Park Narae had a busy filming schedule and could not visit the hospital, she asked the doctor and nurse at the hospital she normally attends for a house call and received an IV, which is a legitimate medical service widely used by ordinary patients."
