Comedian Park Narae rebutted claims by her former managers alleging abusive conduct and, despite being under emotional strain, decided to continue her activities.
On the 5th, OSEN reported that Park Narae has been mentally distressed by the former managers' allegations of abusive conduct and their lawsuit seeking damages, but she has decided to continue her broadcasting activities without interruption and will respond in due course.
In this regard, a close aide to Park Narae said "I cannot cause trouble to the people who grant the program together, and although this situation has occurred, she is thinking of doing as much as she can" said the aide.
On the 4th, according to Dispatch, Park Narae's former managers filed an application for provisional seizure of real estate at the Seoul Western District Court on the 3rd and warned of a damages lawsuit seeking approximately 100 million won.
The complaints and claims they submitted to the court are even more shocking because they are the exact opposite of the image of Park Narae known to the public. The former managers alleged not only simple mistreatment but specific and serious criminal allegations including workplace harassment, special injury, proxy prescriptions and unpaid production fees. They claim they were forced to drink alcohol, run errands for side dishes, clean up after parties and perform other personal tasks outside of work hours, and were even forced to act as household helpers for family members.
In response, Park Narae's side said, "Two employees who worked with Park Narae for about one year and three months recently left the company, and the company duly paid their severance pay. However, after receiving their severance pay, those employees additionally demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the company's previous year's sales," and "As time passed, these individuals added new claims and continued to pressure Park Narae and the company, and the amount they demanded gradually increased to several hundred million won. Park Narae has suffered great psychological burden and emotional shock from the sudden resignation of employees who worked with her, the baseless continuing claims, escalating monetary demands and pressure through the media."
In particular, Park Narae's side said, "The company and Park Narae recognize shortcomings in operations and have no intention of avoiding responsibility for any mistakes. However, we determined that we could no longer be dragged by one-sided demands amid ongoing unnecessary misunderstandings and pressure from claims that differ from the facts. Accordingly, after legal review, we decided to take necessary legal measures."
Meanwhile, Park Narae is currently appearing on MBC "Save Me! Homes", "I Live Alone", and tvN "Amazing Saturday".
