Netflix has confirmed the production of "Taigo," a film that shares the universe with the action film series "Extraction," which won global love for Chris Hemsworth's vivid real action, and has unveiled a fresh casting lineup.
"Taigo" is an action film in which Taigo, a mercenary who grew up as a war orphan, undertakes a life-or-death rescue mission when Ria, who he considers family, is kidnapped by a criminal organization while he is carrying out a major mission. "Taigo" will present the story of the new character Taigo and his friends, and the criminal organization that threatens them, within the universe of the film series "Extraction," which has aimed straight at the hearts of action film fans worldwide.
The role of Taigo, who has lived a life of survival only in war zones, will be played by actor Ma Dong-seok, who is gaining global popularity not only in Korea but around the world. Known as a representative of Korean action film series The Outlaws, and for his Hollywood debut "Eternals," he has become a multitainer who crosses genres and characters and also shines as a producer. His portrayal of the mercenary Taigo is sure to pique curiosity about what new aspects he will reveal.
Joining them, Lee Jin-wook, known for the Netflix series Squid Game Season and Sweet Home, will take on the role of Arman Choi, a member of the criminal organization opposing Taigo, showing an acting transformation. Lee Jin-wook, who has shown a wide acting spectrum, is expected to have a tense showdown with Ma Dong-seok. Finally, Lisa (Lalisa Manoban), the global K-pop star who created a worldwide sensation as a member of Blackpink, will play Ria, Taigo's friend and a team member who carries out missions with him. Production will be led by Ma Dong-seok and handled by Big Punch Pictures, which produced The Outlaws series, and AGBO, which produced the Netflix "Extraction" series and "The Gray Man."
