Hollywood legend Robert De Niro (82) was photographed suddenly wearing an arm brace, raising growing concern among fans about his health.
De Niro recently attended the Broadway play "Oedipus" at Studio 54 in New York to support his former colleague Mark Strong. However, that day he appeared wearing a sling that wrapped his entire right arm, surprising those present.
De Niro posed for photos backstage, smiling brightly with Strong, who had appeared with him in "Stardust," and with Leslie Manville, who is appearing on stage with them, but fans' attention focused on his arm.
De Niro appeared without such a brace at an event in London last November, leading to speculation that this might be a sudden recent change in his condition.
A representative for De Niro acknowledged to People magazine that "he recently underwent a procedure," but did not disclose what injury it was. The representative added that "there is no need to wear it for a long time," suggesting the procedure may have been minor.
De Niro's thin physique has been noticed over the past few months, prompting continued concern from fans. In New York, unlike the bundled winter clothing, he appeared in August wearing thin summer clothes, revealing a slimmer look that raised worries.
Despite that, he has continued a busy schedule, showing vigorous activity with television appearances and a visit to the Vatican.
In 2021, De Niro suffered a quadriceps (quad) rupture while filming Martin Scorsese's film "Killers of the Flower Moon." At the time he said, "I just missed my step and fell. The pain was intense," and he returned home for treatment.
He calmly said, "As you get older, unexpected things happen," and filming resumed afterward without major problems.
Despite being seen wearing the sling this time, De Niro struck poses with colleagues with a bright expression, showing he was in good health.
However, fans reacted with concern, saying things like "I'm worried about what happened," "I hope it's not an injury," and "At 82, I hope he doesn't overdo it."
