Actor Cho Jin-woong has been engulfed in allegations about his private life, including past involvement in crimes.
On the 5th, Cho Jin-woong's agency, Saram Entertainment, told OSEN, "We are checking the facts regarding the report."
That day Dispatch released tips about Cho Jin-woong's past. According to the report, Cho Jin-woong is a person who, during high school, was involved in a serious crime and was sent to a juvenile detention center; the tipsters said, "He joined a delinquent clique and participated in car theft and a sexual assault case, and after a criminal trial he was sent to a juvenile detention center."
Dispatch also said it secured statements that alleged Cho Jin-woong had records of assault and drunk driving during college and his unknown years. It included accounts that he was fined for beating a fellow member during his theater troupe days and that his license was revoked for drunk driving. In particular, the report raised suspicions that Cho Jin-woong hid his stage name, birthdate and education "for the purpose of erasing a criminal record."
Regarding this, the agency said, "We will organize and announce an official position as soon as things become clear."
