Attorney for the bereaved family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron warned against framing them with fabricated allegations.
On the 5th, Law Firm Buyou, legal representative for Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family, said "Go Sang-rok, legal representative for actor Kim Soo-hyun, framed Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family with fabricated allegations, called the bereaved the perpetrators and said, 'Only hell or, at best, living in a cesspool is possible.' Also, on Nov. 26, 2025, after Kim Sae-ron's mother issued a statement, he insulted Kim Sae-ron by calling her 'a bipolar mad person,' 'emotionally unstable Nammi-sae,' and 'a minor Nammi-sae,' and mocked or derided the bereaved by saying 'they are really doing a remarkable job of protecting the deceased's honor' and 'they have given the deceased's honor away to the dogs,'" the firm said.
The statement went on, "Go Sang-rok, legal representative for actor Kim Soo-hyun, has continuously insulted Kim Sae-ron and the bereaved and repeatedly crossed the line by framing the bereaved with fabricated allegations through media play, so on Dec. 4, 2025, we disclosed the minimum amount of evidence among the materials submitted to investigative agencies through a press release," and added, "After releasing materials extracted from forensics, some people suggested the conversation partner might not be actor Kim Soo-hyun, so to end the controversy we are releasing additional materials at a minimum."
The bereaved family released the contents of conversations between Kim Sae-ron and a person believed to be Kim Soo-hyun. They also said, "Kim Sae-ron and actor Kim Soo-hyun met at Kim Soo-hyun's house on June 20, 2018, ate spicy braised chicken and recorded that video. Because that video is also being framed as manipulated, we are releasing the photos taken that day and the message conversation history."
The bereaved family said, "To be clear once again, the bereaved submitted all electronic devices, including Kim Sae-ron's phone, to investigative agencies and cooperated faithfully with the investigation. The evidence disclosed in this press release was extracted from Kim Sae-ron's phone forensics, has already been submitted to investigative agencies, and we emphasize again that there has been no falsification. We ask actor Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative to stop insulting Kim Sae-ron and her bereaved family and to stop framing them with fabricated allegations."
Meanwhile, Go Sang-rok, legal representative for Kim Soo-hyun, said in response to the bereaved family's successive evidence disclosures, "You keep repeating materials already released in March without answering the core questions," and argued, "From what we have learned in responding to recent investigative agency requests, the bereaved also know and acknowledge that actor Kim Soo-hyun had a lover during his military service. The deceased also had lovers in 2017 and 2018. In the entertainment industry, even if a relationship is not public, the fact of dating quickly becomes known, so at that time actor Kim Sae-ron having a lover was something Kim Soo-hyun also knew."
