Go So-young revealed her own special kimchi-making tips as she took on making 50kg of kimchi.
On the 5th, Go So-young posted a video titled "Go So-young 50kg kimchi-making recipe first reveal (minari & anchovy brine)" on her YouTube channel.
That day, Go So-young visited Sangha Farm in Gochang, North Jeolla, and greeted warmly saying "I came to make kimchi." When the production team asked, "Do you usually make kimchi at home?" she said, "Not every year, but I try to do it often. The hardest part is finding kimchi that perfectly suits my taste."
She explained why she came all the way to Gochang, saying, "Making kimchi is actually very hard. Here they do the prep and soak the napa cabbage for you. They carefully select and prepare the ingredients, so it's really nice to come here as a girls' trip."
That day, Go So-young revealed two special kimchi-making tips. Her first tip was minari. Go So-young emphasized, "I will add minari to the kimchi I usually make," and said, "If you add minari, as it ferments it releases vegetable juice that gives a refreshing and nutty flavor."
She said, "You just need to add it at the very end when mixing the filling," and added confidently, "After some time, the minari scent will infuse and you'll wonder, 'Why does this taste so refreshing?'"
Her second tip was an "anchovy brine" made from fresh anchovies. Go So-young said she grinds them herself and confidently said, "You might think it will be fishy, but it's never fishy."
