On the 5th, Park Na-rae's agency, Anpark Co., Ltd., said, "We are currently verifying the exact facts regarding some media reports based on the allegations of Park Na-rae's former managers," and bowed, saying, "We deeply apologize for the confusion and worry caused by the delayed announcement of our position."
The agency explained about Park Na-rae's former managers, "Two employees who worked with Park Na-rae for about 1 year and 3 months recently left the company, and the company duly paid their severance pay. However, after receiving severance pay, those employees additionally demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the company's previous year's sales."
Regarding the issue that the agency was not registered as an entertainment planning business operator, the agency said, "That work was the part handled by the former employees who raised the issue, and they are believed to have falsely reported at the time that all registration procedures had been completed."
It added, "After leaving the company, they tipped off the press about this, and through related media inquiries the company came to accurately recognize the situation. We deeply reflect on the operational shortcomings and are promptly carrying out the proper procedures."
In particular, the agency rebutted, "As time passed, they added new claims and continued to pressure Park Na-rae and the company, and the demanded amounts have gradually increased to reach several tens of millions of won," adding, "Park Na-rae is suffering great mental burden and emotional shock from the sudden departures of employees she worked with, the ensuing groundless claims, increasing demands for money and pressure through the media."
It went on, "The company and Park Na-rae recognize the operational shortcomings and have no intention of evading responsibility for wrongdoing. However, we judged that we can no longer be dragged by unilateral demands in a situation where unnecessary misunderstandings and pressure persist due to claims that differ from the facts," and emphasized, "The suspicions raised in some media will be clearly clarified through future legal procedures."
