Boy group VERIVERY's comeback is causing seismic shifts in the K-pop idol market.
The U.S. business magazine 'Forbes' highlighted VERIVERY's comeback in its Dec. 1 issue (local) and covered it in depth. In particular, it ran an extensive interview about the fourth single album 'Lost and Found', released 2 years and 7 months after the seventh mini album 'Liminality - Episode.Dream (Liminality – EP.DREAM)', giving a sense of the stature of VERIVERY as a global K-pop idol representative.
VERIVERY proved their presence despite the hiatus by being selected for the cover of Amazon Music's playlist 'K-Boys' in addition to coverage by 'Forbes'. 'K-Boys' is a page that curates hit and new songs by K-pop boy groups, and VERIVERY proudly graced the 'K-Boys' cover ahead of many K-pop artists who made comebacks around the same time, giving fans who had eagerly awaited their return an overwhelming emotional moment.
K-pop fans' response to VERIVERY's album 'Lost and Found' has also been hot. As of Dec. 1, it was No. 1 in real time on Hanteo Chart, and as of Dec. 2 it recorded No. 1 on the daily chart; all tracks on the album charted on various music charts, including Melon HOT 100 and Bugs TOP 100, led by the title track 'RED (Beggin')' as well as 'empty' and '솜사탕 (Blame us)'. On iTunes charts, the title track ranked No. 5 in Poland and No. 6 in Malaysia.
The music video for the title track 'RED (Beggin')', which embodies the album's theme of 'han (恨)' and interpolates The Four Seasons' classic 'Beggin'', surpassed 2 million views on VERIVERY's official YouTube channel within a day of release, drawing thousands of comments and high praise as a legendary comeback. The 'suit dance' version performance of 'RED (Beggin')' released on the 'WonderK Original' YouTube channel had not even been online for half a day but recorded tremendous views and comments, and responses have flooded in expecting the group's rise alongside VERIVERY's comeback activities.
Meanwhile, VERIVERY will unveil comeback stages on various music shows starting with KBS2 'MUSIC BANK' on the 5th, followed by MBC 'Show! Music Core' and SBS 'SBS INKIGAYO'.
