Actor Kang Boo-ja, former footballer Lee Young-pyo and announcer Jo Woo-jong drew laughter with their flashy banter.
On the 3rd at 9:50 p.m. KBS2 variety show "Baedalwasseuda", Kang Boo-ja, who prides herself on being a "soccer know-it-all," Lee Young-pyo and Jo Woo-jong appeared and set viewers laughing with candid, straightforward talk. That day, Lee Young-ja and Kim Sook captivated viewers with a mouthwatering mukbang during Kang Boo-ja's delivery phone call.
Nervous during the first delivery call, Lee Young-ja and Kim Sook drew attention by asking actress Yoon Yoo-sun, who is friendly with Kang Boo-ja, and announcer Jo Woo-jong for help. Actress Yoon Yoo-sun reassured them, saying, "You two are pleasant and funny, so (Kang Boo-ja) teacher will really like you," and announcer Jo Woo-jong joined the delivery saying, "I am Kang Boo-ja teacher's beloved doll. I have known the teacher for 15 years," raising expectations.
Lee Young-ja, Kim Sook and Jo Woo-jong arrived at the KBS waiting room destination and faced Kang Boo-ja and former footballer and commentary commissioner Lee Young-pyo, engaging in 'soccer know-it-all' talk that grabbed football fans' attention. Announcing his surprise appearance, Lee Young-pyo added warmth, saying, "I knew Kang Boo-ja teacher liked soccer. The teacher said she wanted to see me, so I appeared."
After a warm first meeting, Kang Boo-ja took charge of lively fun with unreserved talk. When Kim Sook asked which commentary commissioner she preferred most among Ahn Jung-hwan, Park Ji-sung and Lee Young-pyo, Kang Boo-ja picked Ahn Jung-hwan as number one, saying, "Ahn Jung-hwan is good." Lee Young-pyo also laughed, saying, "That's accurate. Even to me Junghwan hyung's commentary is fun."
Kang Boo-ja said, "When I went to the U.S., I was on the same plane as Son Heung-min," revealing photos taken with Son Heung-min and recounting an episode in which she even sent a congratulatory text to Son after he scored a goal, provoking envy from Lee Young-ja, Kim Sook and Jo Woo-jong. Kang Boo-ja also said she once went to Germany to watch Lee Young-pyo's match, showing long-standing fandom, and she fired off questions she had always been curious about, increasing the excitement.
First, when Kang Boo-ja asked what seats national team footballers take when they go on overseas away matches, Lee Young-pyo said, "I became a national team member in 1999 when I was a college senior. Back then players took economy class, but after Coach Hiddink came it changed to business class. The coach changed the team's performance and results, but he also improved the system for the players," expressing respect.
When Kim Sook wondered what they do if they need to go to the restroom during a match, Jo Woo-jong revealed the situation during Lee Young-pyo's Brazil World Cup broadcast and drew big laughs. Jo Woo-jong said, "The commentators and casters used the same restrooms as the general audience after the first half. A situation came where we had to be in for the second half, so we couldn't go and started the broadcast, but when I looked to the side Young-pyo wasn't in his seat," he confessed, and Lee Young-pyo added, "I went four hours without being able to go to the restroom," enhancing the pleasantness with candid talk.
After Kang Boo-ja's ordered three-legged octopus stir-fry and monkfish stew mukbang, Lee Young-pyo's favorite foods, royal court tteokbokki and hamburger steak, followed in a mukbang show. Lee Young-pyo drew attention with his hearty eating while recounting 16 years of overseas activities in the Netherlands, England, Germany and Saudi Arabia, which made viewers perk up their ears.
Lee Young-pyo said, "When I was at PSV Eindhoven, during matches the players didn't pass the ball to me. Maybe the players didn't trust me. Their sharp looks made me nervous, and it became an opportunity to improve my skills. Later, in a match against AFC Ajax I scored a goal, and my teammates' passes started coming to me," recounting an episode that proved his ability while playing in Europe and delivering a quiet emotion.
Meanwhile, the "Young-ja Sook sisters" deliver not only appetizing food but also laughter in the new-concept delivery talk variety show KBS 2TV "Baedalwasseuda," which consistently meets viewers every Wednesday at 9:50 p.m.<
