Blackpink member Jennie (JENNIE) set a new milestone in K-pop history with her first full-length album "Ruby."
On the 3rd (local time), American music magazine Rolling Stone released on its official website "The 100 Best Albums of 2025," and Jennie's first solo full-length album "Ruby" was ranked 29th, marking the highest position among K-pop artists.
Rolling Stone praised, "'Ruby' deeply relies on ideas that dominated R&B-flavored pop in the 2000s and 2010s while sometimes modernizing them in interesting ways. Jennie shows an astonishing ability to command the center of sweet pop R&B."
Along with this, Jennie was selected as No. 1 in Forbes Korea's "Korean Idols of the Year 2025," proving her high global influence.
Jennie participated as the only domestic artist in global audio and music streaming platform Spotify's "Spotify Wrapped 2025" campaign, and on the "Spotify Wrapped 2025" chart released by Spotify, "Ruby" was the only K-pop solo artist album to appear on the "Best Pop Albums of 2025" list. The title track "like JENNIE" ranked 43rd among the "most streamed songs of 2025" worldwide, the highest position for a song by a K-pop female artist released this year.
Also, Jennie's "like JENNIE" ranked 62nd on Apple Music's year-end chart "Top 100: Global" in its 2025 wrap. With this, Jennie achieved the feat of being the first K-pop solo artist to chart on that list.
Jennie's first solo full-length album "Ruby" contains a total of 15 tracks across various genres, including the title track "like JENNIE," and Jennie personally produced the album, encapsulating her identity and boundless musical possibilities. Through songs and concepts across multiple genres, she demonstrated her musical potential as a solo artist, breaking firsts and records, and continues to write new history.
Jennie is currently performing in Blackpink's "BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR 'DEADLINE'" and will go to Tokyo, Japan, on Jan. 16, 17 and 18 next year to connect with local fans. She will then head to Hong Kong on the 24th, 25th and 26th to bring the finale to the "BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR 'DEADLINE'", which spans 16 cities and 33 shows.
