Comedian Kim Soo-yong said he quit smoking after collapsing from an acute myocardial infarction.
A video titled "Kim Soo-yong's first public update: even Song Eun-yi & Kim Sook can't stop Kim Soo-yong's spicy afterlife gags" was posted on the YouTube channel 'VIVO TV'.
Kim Soo-yong said, "No, I went to the afterlife. I went, but my name isn't on the T.O. list yet, so why did I come? They told me to go back, so I returned to this life," adding, "Already? That's wrong. They told me to go back quickly, so I said thank you and returned right away," drawing laughter.
Regarding his condition, Kim Soo-yong said, "My condition is fine. I'm walking now. I have to at least take walks around the neighborhood in front of my house. I can't just stay still," adding, "I don't drink, and I was a heavy smoker. Smoking is now goodbye. I wrote down things I won't do like a bucket list. Alcohol, cigarettes, hamburgers, cola, cake, grilled meat, beef and such—I wrote down everything I won't eat. Eating is important, but exercise is also important, they say."
Especially, Kim Soo-yong said, "I'm grateful just to be able to laugh like this. I was someone who had died," adding, "My mindset has changed and my values have changed. I used to be very tolerant about smoking, but now if someone smokes, I tell them to quit. It's not about cutting down on cigarettes but not smoking at all. I've been reborn like this."
