The agency drew a firm line, calling rumors about comedian Cho Sae-ho's acquaintances unfounded.
On the night of the 4th, a representative of agency A2Z Entertainment told OSEN, "The recent claims circulating on SNS that Cho Sae-ho received expensive gifts from a specific acquaintance are completely untrue."
A recent SNS account that claims to receive reports on illegal criminals for private sanctions raised allegations related to Cho Sae-ho's acquaintances. It alleged that, under the pretext of being acquaintances, Cho Sae-ho promoted a franchise shop run by a member of an organized crime group, frequently socialized and drank with them, and received expensive gifts.
A photo released with the post showed Cho Sae-ho together with Choi, who was described as a key figure in the largest violent organization in the Geochang area, including an image of them embracing, which drew attention. The SNS account demanded an explanation from Cho Sae-ho, alleging that Choi operated illegal gambling sites and laundered illegal funds.
But in response, Cho Sae-ho's side drew a firm line. In fact, Cho Sae-ho has been active as an MC at various events, widely regarded as well connected in the entertainment industry. He said the person in question is merely an acquaintance met through those activities and emphasized that allegations of paid-for gifts are "unfounded." Nevertheless, the SNS post continues to spread.
Cho Sae-ho debuted in 2001 as a comedian in SBS's sixth open recruitment. He formerly performed under the stage name "Cabbage," and currently appears alongside "national MC" Yoo Jae-suk on tvN entertainment show You Quiz on the Block, as well as on KBS 2TV entertainment show 2 Days & 1 Night.
