Broadcaster Hyun-young opened up about an episode in which she even considered divorcing her husband.
On the 3rd, a video titled "Hyun-young's unusual education method: secretly (?) spending hundreds of millions in won on children's education and going all in" was uploaded to the "Sister-in-law is K.Will" channel.
That day, with Hyun-young appearing as a guest, K.Will asked, "Have you ever nagged your husband and finally given up on something?" In response, Hyun-young honestly confessed, "There are many things my husband tried nagging me about and finally gave up on. But there aren't many things I tried nagging my husband about and finally gave up on," which drew laughter.
She said, "My older brother even folds the blankets neatly on the bed when he uses it, and he has to wipe the sink so there isn't a single drop of water. So when we did the interior, we changed the faucet to two. One is his, one is mine. He draws a clear line in half so one side is perfectly dry and clean while my side is soaking wet. He has his own nail clippers and ear pick set. He always loses his nail clippers, so he says those are his and not to touch them," she said.
K.Will guessed, "Sister, I get the feeling you would pick up your husband's things and not put them back by his ear," and Hyun-young agreed, "I put them elsewhere. That's why they disappear." She continued, "He opened a case to clean his ears, but the ear pick was just gone. At midnight. I guess that made him really upset. 'Did you use my nail clipper set?' he comes to me in the middle of the night. I was sleeping," she said, describing their 'polar opposite' personalities.
K.Will wondered, "So who ended up adjusting to whom?" and Hyun-young said, "We just live our own lives, but my husband keeps nagging." She recalled their newlywed days: "When we were newlyweds, not long after we married, having a lot of cosmetics made me feel at ease. I would lavishly place them and be so happy applying this and that. Then I would go to work and come back and there was nothing neat at all. All those things on my vanity were gone. I saw that he had stuffed all my cosmetics into one shopping bag and put that bag somewhere out of sight in the bathtub," she recounted.
K.Will breathed a sigh of relief, saying, "So he didn't throw them away," but Hyun-young revealed that the incident made her decide to divorce: "I thought about getting a divorce." K.Will was surprised, "He didn't throw them away?" and Hyun-young expressed her upset feelings: "He didn't throw them away, but putting this—scratching my pride and stuffing my precious things messily into a shopping bag and then hiding that shopping bag in the bathtub—was an action that completely disregarded me."
She said, "That was about a year after we got married. He also held back a lot. I kept talking to him, but he didn't listen, so he finally picked everything up and put it away." She added, "Once he was walking from the living room to the master bedroom as if to 'leave.' I was in another room and heard a noise, so I came out. He was walking. I thought to myself, I'm going to kick that once. It's so infuriating to be this drunk at this hour. I decided to kick him and before I knew it I kicked him. But he staggered and almost fell. I kicked him and sat on the other sofa. He collapsed forward and then looked back like this. I was sitting on that sofa, but he only looked this way. He didn't see me. He was completely wasted. He must have thought he tripped over his own feet. This is something only I know, but it felt so satisfying," she recounted the small act of revenge.
She added, "I need to learn how to organize things more from my husband. I'm really impressed by that." She continued, "Honestly, I'm so embarrassed I haven't told this anywhere, but honestly, maybe because I was under so much parenting stress or because forgetfulness hit me, I lost both car keys within a month and a half. Since the Chuseok holiday. It must have been chaotic when I dropped off my daughter during Chuseok. I lost the second key then. So I haven't been able to drive since Chuseok. My husband keeps telling me to pull myself together. He's been searching the house over and over. But it doesn't seem like I lost them outside. I have to find them inside the house," she confessed, drawing laughter.
K.Will joked, "Among the things you said today, that really suits you," and Hyun-young said, "That's why I can't drive. I ride a bicycle everywhere." K.Will encouraged her, "They'll definitely be somewhere."
Meanwhile, Hyun-young married a financial sector worker four years her senior in 2012 and has one son and one daughter.
