Comedian Park Na-rae was hit with a provisional seizure application of real estate worth 1 billion won by former managers. On top of that, allegations were raised that Park ran a one-person agency without registering for the business of popular culture and arts planning.
According to entertainment media Dispatch and the entertainment industry on the 4th, Park Na-rae's former managers on the 3rd filed for a provisional seizure on real estate owned by Park at the Seoul Western District Court.
The former managers claim there were multiple issues, including workplace bullying, verbal abuse and aggravated assault, errands to pick up proxy prescriptions, and unprocessed expense settlements.
They said Park Na-rae routinely directed managers to handle personal errands and various private requests, even assigning them family-related tasks.
One manager also claimed they were subjected to verbal abuse for not drinking alcohol and suffered injuries when a glass was thrown. Based on the alleged harm, they also plan to file a damages lawsuit later.
After her exclusive contract with JDB Entertainment ended last year following nine years with the company, Park Na-rae worked at Npark Co., Ltd., founded by her mother. She is said to be coordinating her position with a legal representative.
Meanwhile, allegations surfaced that Npark is an unregistered business for popular culture and arts planning. Registration for the business of popular culture and arts planning is required under the Act on the Development of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry, and entertainers operating as corporations or as sole proprietors with more than one person must register as a business of popular culture and arts planning.
Previously, it also came to light that the agencies of Ock Joo-hyun, Sung Si-kyung, and Song Ga-in had been operating without registration, fueling the "one-person agency controversy."
