'6시 내고향' singer and broadcaster Kim Jeong-yeon became love's cupid and arranged the hometown bus's first blind date.
On the 2nd episode aired on KBS1 '6시 내고향', the program showed 'national guide' Kim Jeong-yeon boarding a bus in Sancheong County, Gyeongsangnam-do, meeting neighbors' life stories.
That day, before the video began, Kim Jeong-yeon previewed, "Since I became the guide, I arranged a blind date for the first time," drawing viewers' attention. As much interest focused on the identity of the blind date as on finding attractions, Kim Jeong-yeon boarded the eagerly awaited first bus.
After meeting a stylish senior from Sancheon, Kim Jeong-yeon immediately continued the interview. The senior was a popular man from Sancheong acknowledged by a friend of 70 years. The senior, who said he had met as many as 50 girlfriends including times he only flirted, reminisced, "Those were good times," and the senior's friend asked Kim Jeong-yeon, "Please introduce a good young woman." A heated response followed, and an impromptu blind date was arranged.
With the national guide specially transformed into a dating show MC, female participant No. 1 shyly said, "I've never spoken up like I would in a village," and male participant No. 1 boldly retorted, "Why haven't you spoken up?" The bus was instantly swept by a pink atmosphere. But male participant No. 1 hesitated when he learned that female participant No. 1 was 69 years old because there was a 14-year age difference.
This time, female participant No. 1 stepped forward boldly. "What does age matter?" she said, displaying the confident charm of a younger woman. Female participant No. 1 then requested a date in Sancheong-eup, saying, "You should at least take me to Samcheonpo beach," showing a direct approach, and male participant No. 1 replied, "I've been to Samcheonpo often. Let's go to Tongyeong," and the two seniors agreed to go on a date.
After arranging the blind date, Kim Jeong-yeon also succeeded in finding an attraction by identifying the exemplary stone of Donguibogam Village, said to give people energy. After the broadcast, Kim Jeong-yeon left word that, "I asked the mother for news after the blind date and learned that the father was shyer than expected. And the mother is busy with kimchi-making season, so they haven't had coffee or a meal yet. The two said they would contact us later, so please look forward to it."
