Male actors approaching their 30s are enlisting one after another.
On the 3rd, Lee Jeong-ha's agency, Namoo Actors, said, "Actor Lee Jeong-ha applied to the Marine Corps and recently received notification of acceptance, and he is scheduled to enter the Marine Corps Education and Training Group on Jan. 26, 2026, to fulfill his defense duty."
The agency said, "On the day of enlistment, as it will be an occasion attended by numerous service members and their families, there will be no separate official event, so we ask for your generous understanding," and added, "We deeply appreciate the unwavering love you give to actor Lee Jeong-ha, and we ask for your warm support until the day he completes his faithful service and returns even more grown."
Born in 1998, Lee Jeong-ha debuted in 2017 with the web drama "Heartthrob caution" and showed a range of acting in works including "Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung", "Run On", and "Nevertheless". In particular, he rose to stardom by playing the role of Kim Bong-seok in the Disney+ series "Moving".
However, this enlistment also leaves regrets. With Lee Jeong-ha unable to join the confirmed 2026 production of "Moving" season 2, disappointment is growing over the vacancy of the character who had been a central pillar of the drama.
Before Lee Jeong-ha, actor Yeo Jin-goo will enlist in the KATUSA (Korean Augmentation To the United States Army) on the 15th. On the 3rd of last month, Yeo Jin-goo's side said, "Actor Yeo Jin-goo was selected for KATUSA and will serve for about 1 year and 6 months starting Monday, Dec. 15."
The agency said, "We are always grateful for the interest shown toward actor Yeo Jin-goo, and until the day he completes his defense duty in good health and returns more mature, we ask for your continued support and encouragement."
Meanwhile, on the 1st, actor Song Geon-hee quietly announced his enlistment. Through the agency's official account that day, Song Geon-hee said, "I enlisted today. I came to greet you because I thought many of you might be surprised by the sudden news."
Song Geon-hee said, "I originally should have gone earlier, but I am going to the military only after turning 30. Still, I keep the one thing I wanted to preserve when I first started this work: leaving behind the fresh image of my 20s," and added, "I will be away for a while, but I hope you stay healthy until I return and have peaceful days. I will return healthy," delivering his final preenlistment greeting to fans.
