Madame Tussauds Hong Kong's media invitation event was canceled due to the Hong Kong fire tragedy.
On the 3rd, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong said, "We express our deepest condolences to the victims of the recent tragic fire in Hong Kong and regret to inform you that the media invitation event scheduled for Dec. 9 has been unavoidably canceled."
Madame Tussauds Hong Kong added that information and on-site photos related to the unveiling of the new wax figure will be delivered through a separate press release.
Earlier, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong announced it would reveal the world's first wax figure of Jung Haein, saying, "Jung Haein, who marked the 10th anniversary of his debut last year, won fervent support from fans by delivering a romantic performance with Son Ye-jin in Something in the Rain. He was also recognized for his acting at the 2nd Seoul Awards, the 6th APAN Star Awards and the 8th APAN Star Awards, and the 2022 Asia Academy Creative Awards."
The Hong Kong fire tragedy occurred on the 26th of last month at about 2:51 p.m. local time at the high-rise apartment complex 'Wong Pok Court' located in the Tai Po district in northern Hong Kong. The incident left 156 dead, 79 injured and 30 missing, and was recorded as the worst fire disaster since the 1997 handover of Hong Kong.
