CORTIS re-entered the U.S. Billboard main chart after about a month, demonstrating the fierce momentum befitting "this year's best new artist."
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)'s debut album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" reappeared at No. 121 on Billboard's main album chart (Billboard 200) in the Dec. 6 issue, which was published on the 2nd. After re-entering at No. 171 (Oct. 25 issue) thanks to activities in the United States in October, the album showed the strength to return to the chart once more.
Awards show stages, fresh self-produced content ranging from long-form to mid-form, and covering fashion magazines led to an influx of new fans that helped drive the ranking. The album previously entered the Billboard 200 at No. 15 (Sept. 27 issue) and remained on the chart for two weeks. That is the highest debut album performance for a K-pop group excluding project groups. It is also the highest rank among Korean boy groups that debuted in the past four years.
"COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" jumped substantially compared with the previous week, rising 30 places to No. 14 on Top Album Sales, which tracks physical album sales in the U.S., and 19 places to No. 13 on Top Current Album Sales. It climbed three spots to No. 4 on World Albums.
The album surpassed cumulative sales of 1.06 million on the Circle Chart about three months after release. It is the only single album to be a million seller among rookies who debuted this year. It is also enjoying widespread popularity, surpassing 200 million total streams on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify (as of Nov. 27).
Meanwhile, CORTIS is making its presence felt on year-end awards show stages. At the "2025 MAMA AWARDS" held at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium on Nov. 28-29, they won the Best New Artist award, which corresponds to newcomer of the year. The performance they delivered that day ranked fourth in views among this year's awards show videos posted on the Mnet K-POP YouTube channel as of 6 a.m. on the 3rd, drawing intense interest.
