A tense dynamic runs between Ji-sung and Oh Se-young as a married couple.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama drama Judge Lee Han-young, scheduled to premiere Jan. 2, 2026 (planned by Jang Jae-hoon, written by Kim Kwang-min, directed by Lee Jae-jin and Park Mi-yeon), is a justice-restoration time‑return drama about corrupt judge Lee Han-young, who lived as a slave to a giant law firm and returns 10 years to the past to punish great evil through a new choice.
In the drama, Ji-sung plays Lee Han-young, the son-in-law of Haenal Law Firm who is called the "servant judge," and Oh Se-young plays Yu Se-hee, Haenal Law Firm's youngest daughter.
The producers of Judge Lee Han-young released a two-shot still today (the 3rd) capturing the subtle relationship between Ji-sung and Oh Se-young, igniting the spark for the lovers' tale of love and hate the two will unfold.
Lee Han-young, played by Ji-sung, is a judge with a humble background who, aiming to climb higher, married Yu Se-hee and became the "servant judge" of Haenal Law Firm. Because their marriage was formed from desires for money and comfort, cold winds blow between Han-young and Se-hee. After suffering an unexpected accident and returning to his days as a single judge 10 years earlier, Han-young now approaches Se-hee with the goal of achieving justice. His meaningful smile while holding a cell phone creates a subtle tension and heightens curiosity about what will unfold between the two.
Meanwhile, Yu Se-hee, played by Oh Se-young, is the youngest daughter of Korea's top law firm Haenal Law Firm, with perfect looks and a personality full of arrogance. Having grown up without lacking anything, she has a strong pride and does not bend; when Lee Han-young defies the name of Haenal Law Firm, she immediately turns her back on him. After returning to 10 years earlier, Se-hee has the worst first meeting with the "strange man" Lee Han-young at a blind date and finds herself increasingly falling for him.
Thus, Ji-sung and Oh Se-young will depict not only the relationship of a man and woman who start anew with different goals amid a cold marriage, but also the power struggle surrounding Haenal Law Firm, which is deeply involved in collusive trials. Judge Lee Han-young is based on the work of the same name that recorded 11.81 million views for the original web novel, 90.66 million views for the webtoon, and a combined 102.47 million views. Director Lee Jae-jin, who has shown stylish direction through The Banker, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Motel California, joined forces with director Park Mi-yeon and writer Kim Kwang-min.
