Actor Sung Yuri, formerly of the group Fin.K.L, who sparked controversy after her husband was taken into custody in court, has ultimately stepped down from a home shopping program.
According to the entertainment industry on the 3rd, Sung Yuri posted a video on her social media (SNS) account on the 1st with the caption, "I will remember every moment we were together."
The released video includes parts of the "Sung Yuri Edition" broadcasts that Sung hosted on the home shopping channel GS Shop for about seven months from April to recently.
Sung Yuri returned to broadcasting for the first time in two years by transforming into a home shopping show host on Apr. 30. It was her first appearance since her husband Ahn Sung-hyun was taken into custody in court on charges of fraud and taking bribes in breach of duty.
Ahn was taken into custody in court after being sentenced last December to four years and six months in prison on charges of receiving money, valuables, and luxury watches between September and November 2021 in return for brokering the listing of a cryptocurrency.
Sung Yuri faced criticism from the time of her return. The criticism was that she appeared on air despite her husband's prison term for fraud and taking bribes in breach of duty. The home shopping channel also partially made some of its posts featuring Sung private.
It is known that the "Sung Yuri Edition" cannot currently be found on GS Shop's official website or channel. GS Shop is putting "Now Baek Ji-yeon," "So Yu-jin Show," and "Han Hye-yeon's Style Now" at the forefront.
