Netflix original Physical: Asia is returning as a spinoff.
The spinoff version of Physical: Asia, Physical: Welcome to Mongolia, is a special Physical friendship travelogue in which the Mongolian team, which faced off fiercely with Korea in the final, invites their Korean team friends to "home Mongolia".
The show features Mongolian team captain Erhengbayar, who said he would invite the Korean team to Mongolia, and Korean team captain Kim Dong-hyun, who said he would visit Mongolia if he won, meeting again in Mongolia to keep their promises. It further expands the world of Physical: Asia, which captivated viewers worldwide, and is generating high expectations.
Cast members include Korean team members Kim Dong-hyun and Amotti, and Mongolian team members Erhengbayar and Ochir. Especially as the Netflix original Physical: Asia has become a national content and created a syndrome even in Mongolia, curiosity about this spinoff is also rising.
From A to Z, Mongolian traditional wrestling champion Erhengbayar personally planned the travel schedule, and rather than the images often seen in Mongolian content, it will show "real Mongolian-style" travel places where actual Mongolian people go and the restaurants they visit.
Viewers will also see diverse sights, including the special training methods handed down by Mongolian traditional wrestling champion Erhengbayar and Mongolia's vast steppes where a thousand horses run and play. Ochir, a member of Cirque du Soleil who is working as an actor in Mongolia, will present Mongolian home-cooked meals he prepared himself to his friends, drawing interest about how they will taste. In addition, a special guest who will surprise everyone is scheduled to join, increasing curiosity about their identity.
Today (the 3rd), the teaser for Physical: Welcome to Mongolia released on Netflix and Theo's official social media and YouTube shows Kim Dong-hyun and Amotti video-calling Ochir ahead of their trip to Mongolia, capturing attention.
In the video, Ochir hinted, "Erhengbayar is planning something very cool. You can ride horses and do archery," while adding excitement by inviting the Korean team to his home. Kim Dong-hyun and Amotti expressed regret about the short schedule, joking, "let's play without sleeping for 24 hours," and "we'll sleep next year," which drew laughs. With so many activities that 24 hours might not be enough, expectations are growing for how the diverse, authentic Mongolian-style trip will unfold and for the special chemistry between the two teams that can be seen only in the Physical: Asia spinoff.
The Physical: Asia spinoff Physical: Welcome to Mongolia was produced in four episodes, with episodes 1–2 released on Netflix on Dec. 24 (Wed). Episodes 3–4 will be available on Dec. 31 (Wed).
