The group BOYNEXTDOOR set a unique record among K-pop boy groups on YouTube's annual chart.
According to YouTube's 2025 year-end settlement of account list released on the 3rd, BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Liu, Myung Jaehyun, Taesan, I-han, Unhak)'s first digital single released earlier this year, 'Only today I LOVE YOU', was listed at number 10 on the '2025 YouTube Korea Shorts most popular songs TOP 10'. BOYNEXTDOOR was the only K-pop boy group to appear on that chart, underscoring their presence.
'2025 YouTube Korea Shorts most popular songs TOP 10' is a chart that selects songs uploaded in Korea that were released this year or showed notable year-over-year growth in Shorts. Given that it is based on popularity, BOYNEXTDOOR's entry on the chart is highly significant.
'Only today I LOVE YOU' is a dance song that humorously depicts the realistic aftermath of a breakup. Although it deals with breakup as a theme, its wit makes it not purely sad. Riding the popularity of this song, BOYNEXTDOOR quickly emerged as a strong force on the music charts. 'Only today I LOVE YOU' topped Korea Apple Music's 'Top 100 of the day' for 37 consecutive days from Jan. 9 to Feb. 14. It also entered the U.S. Billboard 'Global (excluding U.S.)' and 'Global 200' charts, gaining popularity overseas. On Melon's monthly chart, a barometer of mass appeal, it has maintained a top position for 11 months from January through November.
BOYNEXTDOOR has continued long-running popularity with their mini album 5, The Action, released last October. The album debuted at No. 40 on the U.S. Billboard main album chart, the Billboard 200 (Nov. 8 chart). In addition, it appeared on charts such as World Albums and Emerging Artists for five consecutive weeks, and it re-entered the Dec. 6 chart for Top Current Album Sales, showing strong staying power.
Their presence at year-end award shows is also immense. On Nov. 28, they grabbed the Favorite Male Group trophy at the 2025 MAMA AWARDS held at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium. They are set to appear at The 17th Melon Music Awards, MMA2025 (2025 Melon Music Awards, MMA2025) to be held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 20th, aiming for awards.
