Hwasa (HWASA) 'Good Goodbye' viral comeback popularity is expanding globally.
According to the Dec. 6 Billboard chart released Dec. 2 (local time), 'Good Goodbye' rose to No. 43 on the Billboard Global 200. This is the song's first entry on the chart since the Oct. 15 release. On the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, the song, which had reached No. 4 after its release, re-entered the chart and ranked No. 2, marking a career high thanks to its renewed surge in popularity.
Meanwhile, on the iTunes song chart on the 3rd the song reached No. 1 in four regions including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Kyrgyzstan; No. 2 in Hong Kong and Indonesia; No. 3 in Thailand and Vietnam; No. 14 in France; and No. 27 in the United States, proving a hot rise in popularity overseas as well as domestically.
On the 19th of last month at KBS Hall in Yeouido during the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, after a celebratory stage with actor Park Jung-min, it has become a popular trend.
On the 38th day after release, from the morning of the 22nd of last month it topped major domestic music charts including Melon top 100, Hot 100, as well as Bugs and Flo. Riding a syndrome-level popularity, it ultimately achieved a "perfect all-kill (PAK)", topping all six major music sites — Melon, Genie, Bugs, YouTube Music, Flo and Vibe — becoming the first solo female artist this year to do so.
The MV released simultaneously with the song also rose sharply and was approaching 55 million views, with Hwasa absorbing all the topics and popularity in the music scene like a "black hole." Starting from the question "Is a 'good farewell' possible?", the warm breakup song that wishes the other person's happiness, 'Good Goodbye', drew particular attention for the special synergy between Hwasa and actor Park Jung-min in the MV.
Afterwards at the Blue Dragon Awards, the touching celebratory stage that showcased the poignant chemistry between Hwasa and Park Jung-min became a 'legendary stage' of the ceremony, and that popularity carried over as a viral comeback surge.
In response to the popularity, Hwasa expressed gratitude on Instagram, saying, "Thank you, senior Jung-min, for becoming a wonderful breakup boyfriend. Thank you for being with me until the end at unforgettable beautiful moments and meaningful occasions." Hwasa has been actively pursuing music activities since signing an exclusive contract with P NATION, led by Psy, in June 2023. After changing agencies she has established her stature as a distinctive female solo artist by presenting assertive music with songs such as 'I Love My Body', 'NA', and 'Good Goodbye.'
