Comedian Hong Yun-hwa made a surprising major announcement on "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2." Her goal is to lose a whopping 40kg.
On the episode of SBS variety show "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2" that aired on the 1st, the couple Hong Yun-hwa and Kim Min-gi, married eight years, appeared. Together for 15 years including their dating period, the two created a meaningful atmosphere that day, saying "we will make a major announcement."
Hong Yun-hwa said, "I wake up because it's hard to breathe while sleeping. Mentally I'm worn down and my body hurts, so my mood is depressed and it's hard. Weight loss seems to be the priority, so I plan to lose 40kg."
Hong Yun-hwa vowed, "This time I won't back out." She added, "I've decided this will be the last diet of my life. I will lose 40kg by Dec. 31 of this year," declaring it to everyone's surprise.
He said that he lost more than 30kg when he married seven years ago, "That was my peak. I gained a lot again after marriage," and laughed. The broadcast revealed her slim newlywed appearance from early in the marriage, attracting attention.
Hong Yun-hwa revealed recent conditions, saying, "Actually I'm currently reduced to 27kg less," comparing with how she looked six months ago. "Recently I gained 5kg back. Still, I'll lose the remaining 20kg and build a healthy body within this year," she said determinedly.
She confessed frankly, "I think I've tried at least 100 kinds of diets. I do lose weight, but the problem is maintaining it. Yo-yo dieting is ultimately my problem." Kim Sook jokingly said, "Yun-hwa eats well when she's in a good mood," drawing laughter.
Hong Yun-hwa said, "If I exercise too much, a compensation mentality arises. The thought of 'I did this much, so I can eat' was the problem," and vowed, "This time I won't reward my body. Exercise will be zero; I'll lose weight through diet alone."
Viewers are continuing to cheer on whether Hong Yun-hwa's "last diet project" for a healthy change can succeed.
