Actor Jung Kyung-ho spoke about his efforts for the lawyer character.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama PROBONO held an online press conference that was live streamed. Director Kim Seong-yoon, actor Jung Kyung-ho, So Joo-yeon, Lee Yoo-young, Yoon Na-mu, Seo Hye-won and Kang Hyeong-seok attended the press conference and talked.
PROBONO is a human courtroom drama about a social-climbing, selfish judge who unintentionally becomes a public-interest lawyer and ends up trapped in the corner office of a giant law firm with a public-interest team that generates zero revenue, leading to chaotic events.
In the story, Jung Kyung-ho plays Kang Da-wit, a national judge who became a public-interest lawyer. When asked about his efforts for the Kang Da-wit character, he said, "Kang Da-wit has many aspects different from Jung Kyung-ho personally. I thought if I do actions I don't usually do, I might look like Kang Da-wit," and added, "The points I wanted to give were developed in the process of meeting with the writer and director before filming. It seems we worked on tone and voice."
In particular, the writer Moon Yoo-seok, who wrote PROBONO, is a former judge. Regarding this, Jung Kyung-ho said, "I have unintentionally done many 'sa' occupations. So I did doctor roles, lecturer roles, criminal roles, but because our writer is a judge, in other works there was an advisory teacher, while this time the writer took care of and reviewed things one by one, so it was rather easier to do," he confessed.
He said, "Because I could ask directly, and he could touch and correct things right beside me, it was a more comfortable process than learning somewhere else," and when asked, "As a 'sa' specialist actor, what other 'sa' occupations would you like to try in the future?" he joked, "I don't think I've done a grim reaper yet," drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, PROBONO will premiere on the 6th at 9:10 p.m.
