Actor Choi Seong-won shared news that he reunited with colleagues to mark the 10th anniversary of Reply 1988.
On the 1st he posted on his SNS a photo commemorating the 10th anniversary along with the words, "Already the 10th anniversary, time and years go by so fast. I hope we can be together for the 20th anniversary too."
His post, which placed the original poster and the 10th anniversary poster side by side, captured the undiminished warmth of the "Reply family" despite the passage of time.
This reunion is even more meaningful for Choi Seong-won. He was beloved for his role as No-eul, the younger brother of Deok-sun (Hyeri), in tvN's Reply 1988 in 2015, but the next year he was diagnosed with leukemia and had to halt his activities. He returned after being declared cured in 2017, but the illness recurred in 2020, forcing him to endure transplantation surgery and another prolonged battle with the disease. Then in 2022 he announced a second cure, touching many people.
Last year he announced a full comeback through TVING's Pyramid Game, and he is now continuing his acting activities. His appearance at the "Reply" 10th anniversary gathering with a bright face has led fans to cheer, saying, "This moment is so precious," and "Thank you for holding on."
Meanwhile, the tvN special Reply 1988 10th anniversary, which airs on the 19th, will feature Hyeri, Park Bo-gum, Ko Kyung-pyo, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Sung-gyun, Sung Dong-il and the other Ssangmundong family members of the time, who will present a special 2 Days & 1 Night trip.
