On Nov. 30, Soyeon posted several recent photos on her social media with the caption "home sweet home. 근데 내일 또 떠나" (home sweet home. but I'm leaving again tomorrow). In the released photos, Soyeon is shown spending time at her Dubai residence and visiting restaurants, sharing a relatively relaxed daily life.
But the fact drew more attention because on the same day, T-ara member Ham Eun-jung held a wedding with film director Kim Byung-woo at the Grand Hyatt Yongsan in Seoul. Ji-yeon, Hyomin and Qri attended to offer congratulations, but Soyeon was not seen, raising fans' curiosity.
The reason Soyeon did not attend the wedding is that her current base of life is in Dubai. After marrying soccer player Cho Yu-min in 2022, Soyeon has been living in Dubai following her husband's transfer to the United Arab Emirates' Sharjah FC. She recently returned to the country briefly to accompany her husband for the Nov. A-match call-up, but went back to Dubai immediately after the match ended.
And on Dec. 1, Soyeon posted a photo that appeared to show her waiting at an airport with the caption "Delay," hinting that she was on the move again. She then posted photos with the captions "Christmas trip" and "정신없어 그냥 이륙" (so hectic, just taking off), and it was ultimately revealed that Soyeon's destination was Germany. It was a Christmas trip she took from Dubai using business class.
Thus the reason Soyeon could not attend Ham Eun-jung's wedding naturally became clear, and fans reacted with comments such as "understandable since she lives abroad" and "have a good trip to Germany."
