Sung Yuri, formerly of the group Fin.K.L, stepped down from the home shopping channel where she had returned while caring for her husband.
On the 1st, Sung Yuri shared a video of her past appearances, saying, "Sung Yuri edition. I will remember every moment we spent together."
Earlier, Sung Yuri returned to home shopping on April 30 after about four months since her husband was remanded in custody. This was Sung Yuri's first official activity since her husband Ahn Seong-hyun was sentenced to four years and six months in prison on charges of fraud and accepting money and gifts and is serving his sentence.
However, public criticism of Sung Yuri's return intensified, and the home shopping channel deleted posts related to her return. Nevertheless, Sung Yuri appeared on the scheduled broadcast, and controversy erupted.
Sung Yuri married businessman and former pro golfer Ahn Seong-hyun in 2017 and gave birth to twin daughters in 2022. However, Ahn Seong-hyun was sentenced to prison on charges that he received billions of won in money and luxury watches in return for arranging cryptocurrency listings between September and November 2021, and he was remanded in custody in December last year.
At the time, Sung Yuri indirectly expressed her position on social media, saying, "I pray that the injustice against our family will be revealed," and she then suspended her broadcasting activities altogether.
