'극한84' Choo Sung Hoon ultimately withdrew due to injury.
The first episode of MBC's new variety show '극한84', which aired on the 30th, depicted Kian84 forming an extreme running crew and departing for South Africa.
Ahead of the extreme running challenge that day, Kian84 met Choo Sung Hoon at a nail salon. Choo Sung Hoon showed his resolve, saying "The longest I ever ran was 20 km when I was a judo athlete. It's hard, but isn't hard also 'fun'."
Then, Kwon Hwa-woon, who said he had been running for one year, drew attention by appearing with a medal won at a marathon hung around his neck. He confessed his fandom for Kian84, saying "I started running because of Kian84."
After bonding, the long-awaited departure day arrived. Kian84, who arrived earlier, waited for Choo Sung Hoon with Kwon Hwa-woon. But Choo Sung Hoon appeared on crutches, and a surprised Kian84 asked, "What happened?" The studio was also confused, asking, "Are you joking?"
Choo Sung Hoon confessed, "While filming yesterday, two bones were broken. I fell oddly while riding a jet ski and got caught. I went straight to the emergency room and the bone was broken." He then said his foot was okay, but in the footage a doctor warned, "Depending on the situation, if it doesn't heal, surgery will be needed," adding to the surprise.
Choo Sung Hoon apologized, saying, "I came to help because I wondered if there was anything I could properly do. I'm really sorry," and Kian84 cautiously asked, "Can you come with us?"
Choo Sung Hoon admitted, "It varies by person, but (for the bone to heal) it seems it will take about a month. I don't mind. What worries me is the airplane. It will hurt a lot when you go up because of the pressure. It swells," and Kian84 worriedly asked, "Shall we go to a hospital when we arrive (in South Africa)?"
One hour before departure, the production team held an emergency meeting, and it was ultimately decided that Choo Sung Hoon would not join the crew. Choo Sung Hoon again expressed his apologies to the team members, and Kian84 comforted him, saying, "I think you'll miss it more than we will, hyung."
Choo Sung Hoon said, "I want to go. I want to go. I'm sorry," and cheered on departing Kian84 and Kwon Hwa-woon, saying, "Please go and come back without getting hurt." In the studio, Kian84 wore a hollow smile, saying, "I said goodbye to the first member of crew number 1 like this. He withdrew."
Meanwhile, '극한84' is an 'ultra-extreme' running variety program that depicts Kian84 entering an unimaginably demanding course that exceeds 42.195 km, testing himself in extreme marathon conditions and continuing to challenge himself until the end.<
