Singer Lee Seung-gi, who cut ties with his in-laws after marrying actress Lee Da-in, revealed happy news about his married life. He was enjoying happiness after marriage, spending peaceful time with his wife and a daughter who resembles them each by half.
On the afternoon of the 29th, Lee Seung-gi appeared on the general programming channel MBN's Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night. That day Lee Seung-gi drew attention by mentioning his changed mindset after marrying Lee Da-in and his 21-month-old daughter who looks exactly like him.
Lee Seung-gi received a question about the "female friends" he had worked with. When asked which female friend among Han Hyo-joo, Lee Se-young, Suzy and others he was closest to, Lee Seung-gi picked Han Hyo-joo.
Then, when asked how his wife Lee Da-in felt about Lee Seung-gi's female friends, he said, "Of course Hyo-joo knows. Actress Lee Se-young also came to the wedding and actually gave one of the largest congratulatory gifts. I was so embarrassed I asked, 'Se-young, why did you give so much as a congratulatory gift?' and she said, 'Oppa, congratulations,'" he said.
Lee Seung-gi added, "If Se-young gets married, I should do that. If I were the older brother I would do more. Se-young and Yang Se-hyung were the same."
In particular, Lee Seung-gi spoke about married life that day and showed special affection for Lee Da-in and their daughter. Lee Seung-gi said, "Living single alone is such a cool life, but when I was single there were times when an overwhelming loneliness and emptiness would come over me at home sometimes," and "I thought I would be happy as I achieved goals one by one, and I was happy at those moments, but I felt empty and looked for another goal. There were times I wondered if I would keep searching for goals until I die," he confessed.
Lee Seung-gi said, "Married life seems to have many more advantages. Personally I feel much more stable and I have a happy family to protect," adding, "And because I have a wife who is completely on my side and a really pretty baby, life has become simpler and that's good." He was able to have a relaxed mindset while living a stable life after marriage.
However, Lee Seung-gi faced criticism several times after marrying Lee Da-in in 2023. The fallout continued when Lee Da-in's new father and father-in-law, a person surnamed Lee, was arrested on fraud charges, and ultimately Lee Seung-gi said, "Trust between the families has been damaged to a level that is difficult to restore, and after long consideration we intend to sever ties with the in-laws." He said he would cut ties with Lee Da-in's family and live solely the life of him and Lee Da-in.
Having found peace after marriage, Lee Seung-gi was especially affectionate toward the first daughter he had last year. On the show, Lee Seung-gi showed the baby's photos to MC Kim Joo-ha as well as Moon Se-yoon and Cho Jjae-jaz. He had set his phone background to his daughter's photo, and Moon Se-yoon and Kim Joo-ha marveled, "You can see both the mother's and father's faces." Lee Seung-gi showed a new photo, saying, "When she smiles there's something identical; my smiling face is the same. She really looks like me," and Moon Se-yoon said, "Her dimples are so pretty," noting the visuals that resemble both Lee Seung-gi and Lee Da-in. Meanwhile, Lee Seung-gi talked about working on new songs, saying, "One thing that makes me happy is that our daughter is 21 months old, and when I record and do vocal monitoring at home she really gets into the rhythm. She shakes her hips," and "When the song ends she says 'daddy daddy' and asks to play it again. She listened to it 10 times," he said, adoring his daughter who takes after his talent. Now that he felt more at ease after marriage, Lee Seung-gi spoke frankly about his wife Lee Da-in and his daughter.
