Actor Ham Eun-jung and director Kim Byung-woo are tying the knot.
Ham Eun-jung and director Kim Byung-woo will hold their wedding on the 30th at a location in Seoul. The wedding will be held privately with family from both sides and close acquaintances invited.
Ham Eun-jung and director Kim Byung-woo met at a gathering of film industry acquaintances, continued their relationship and developed into lovers, culminating in marriage.
Ham Eun-jung's side said, "Actor Ham Eun-jung has promised to share life's journey with a precious partner sometime in November," and explained, "The groom-to-be is not a celebrity, and the wedding will be held privately in a quiet and warm atmosphere with family from both sides and close acquaintances in attendance."
After the wedding announcement, Ham Eun-jung said, "After seeing off my mother, who seemed like she would watch over me for life, a year ago, I wanted to build a bright and warm family like my mother. I decided to start a new chapter with someone who understands and respects my work better than anyone and quietly supported me when times were hard. Please support us with affection. I will live diligently, beautifully and well."
Attention also focused on Ham Eun-jung's wedding dress. Ahead of the wedding, Ham Eun-jung recently revealed the preparation process on YouTube. She introduced the process of choosing dresses for the first and second parts of the wedding, and among them was a dress priced at 60 million won, which drew attention.
After the wedding announcement, suspicions of a premarital pregnancy grew stronger. That was because it was a sudden announcement revealed about a month before the wedding without any dating rumors. Ham Eun-jung's side said the families of both sides hurried the wedding because they hoped not to carry it into next year, and that it was not a premarital pregnancy. Actor Lee Jang-woo, who had worked with Ham Eun-jung as a "virtual couple," also guessed a premarital pregnancy but it was found not to be true.
Ham Eun-jung and director Kim Byung-woo decided to focus on work rather than go on a honeymoon after the wedding. Ham Eun-jung is filming MBC's new daily drama First Woman, which premieres on Dec. 15, and director Kim Byung-woo's Netflix series The Great Flood, which he directed, is scheduled to be released on Dec. 19.
Ham Eun-jung debuted in 1996 in the KBS drama New Generation Report: Adults Don't Know, then was active as a member of the group T-ara and as an actress, gaining much love. About three months after the Sept. finale of KBS2's Queen's House, she will return to meet viewers with MBC's new daily drama First Woman.
Director Kim Byung-woo has directed films such as Anamorphic, Reton, The Terror Live, PMC: The Bunker, The Omniscient View of a Crime, and The Great Flood. Through The Terror Live, he won the best new director and best screenplay at the 22nd Buil Film Awards, the 14th Busan Film Critics Association Award, and the best new director at the 34th Golden Camera Awards.
