Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun have finally become real lovers.
Last night (the 29th) at 9:20 p.m., in episode 9 of the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Last Summer (directed by Min Yeon-hong / written by Jeon Yu-ri / produced by Monster Union, Slingshot Studio), Baek Do-ha (played by Lee Jae-wook) and Song Ha-kyung (played by Choi Sung-eun) confirmed their feelings for each other.
In that episode, Ha-kyung, having realized her true feelings for Do-ha, told Seo Soo-hyeok (played by Kim Gun-woo) that she wanted to break up. Soo-hyeok, while understanding Ha-kyung's feelings, showed a bitter heart. He then said, "There were so many things I wanted to do if I had a girlfriend," and made a final request.
Soo-hyeok's final request was a date at an amusement park. When Do-ha joined them there, the situation took an unexpected turn. At Do-ha's appearance, Ha-kyung could not hide her embarrassment, but soon the three of them had a pleasant time riding the attractions. Before they knew it, Ha-kyung was out of mind as Do-ha and Soo-hyeok, driven by competitiveness, became absorbed in the games, prompting laughter from viewers.
Afterward, Soo-hyeok chose a mature goodbye, stepping back while offering sincere support to Ha-kyung. Ha-kyung also expressed gratitude to Soo-hyeok, bringing their relationship to a close. Having resolved her relationship with Soo-hyeok, Ha-kyung confessed her honest feelings to Do-ha, and the two announced the start of a new romance with a kiss.
As lovers, Do-ha and Ha-kyung spent sweet moments at the peanut house, stirring excitement. But Ha-kyung caught a cold, and Do-ha, who was nursing her, also caught the cold in a comic turn of events. Even while sick, the two showed sweet chemistry, coloring living rooms pink.
Meanwhile, a red flag went up in the relationship between Oh Seung-taek (played by Ahn Dong-gu) and Lee Seul (played by Jung Bo-min). Seung-taek felt sorry seeing Seul force a smile while dating him for a long time and ultimately told her he wanted to break up for her sake. Seul, unable to hold back her sadness at the breakup, cried, a sight that moved viewers to tears.
At the end of the broadcast, Do-ha hurried to the United States over an important matter related to Baek Do-young (played by Lee Jae-wook). Missing Do-ha, Ha-kyung bought a plane ticket to the United States. When Ha-kyung arrived at the airport, Do-ha appeared and said, "I brought him. Baek Do-young," an ending that raised curiosity for the next episode to a peak. Viewers were left wondering what happened to the missing Do-young and what emotional changes Do-ha and Ha-kyung will experience when they face him.
Viewers who watched the broadcast reacted strongly with comments such as "Ah, Seo Soo-hyeok is so cool," "Ha-kyung is a teto woman. I love that she's honest," "Do-ha/Ha-kyung's romance is really starting now," "I hope Seung-taek and Seul are happy too," "Oh my, did they find Do-young? What was the breakup trip about… I'm curious," and "Do-ha's notes left for Ha-kyung totally made my heart flutter."
