Actor Nam Da-reum's mother broke her silence over suspicions that she might be managing her son's SNS account on his behalf.
On the 30th, Nam Da-reum's mother posted a long message on her personal account saying, "It seems there are many talks about this account again. There are comments and DMs with writings that are uncomfortable to read."
Previously, centered on SNS, there had been negative reactions claiming that even though Nam Da-reum is 23 years old, his mother operates his SNS account.
In response, Nam Da-reum's mother spoke directly and said, "To clear up a slightly unfair misunderstanding, this account, about 10 years old? started simply as my private space. She added, "Also, after several fake accounts impersonating Nam Da-reum appeared, I changed the username to 'Nam Da-reum mom' and began using it as an account to share Da-reum's news and record activities."
Nam Da-reum's mother said, "Even after Da-reum became an adult, he had little interest in SNS and did not create a personal account, and those who searched and found the account often misunderstand that I manage my son's account because of the name 'mom,' and as a result sometimes leave writings expressing discomfort."
She went on, "I also wanted to change the name 'mom,' but perhaps because the follower count is large, even that is not easy, and I've been worrying about it for years. If anyone knows where to find Instagram support, please tell me ^^."
Nam Da-reum's mother emphasized, "I'm not forcibly blocking SNS, but I also don't want to force him to create one. I think it's best for him to start when he himself wants to."
