Singer-songwriter Park Sun-joo revealed a special episode she experienced during the marriage process with her husband, chef Kang Leo, emphasizing her trust and loyalty toward her husband.
On the 26th, in a pre-release video of MBN 'Sokpulishow Dongchimi,' Park Sun-joo said, "Love is, well, comrade spirit and loyalty. Is there anything else?" expressing her convictions about married life.
Park Sun-joo admitted that early in their dating she did not think about marriage. She said, "At first I didn't date with the idea of marriage. He is six years younger than me, and while dating was enjoyable, it seemed difficult to take someone else's precious son into my house, so I planned to just date." But at 42 she learned of a natural pregnancy and an unexpected situation came.
She recalled the shock at the time, saying, "There weren't many nights when we just held hands and slept. I felt very sick and thought I had overdone it, so I went to buy cold medicine, and there was a pregnancy test right there at the pharmacy. On a hunch I tried it and it was positive. I was so surprised I threw the test." She continued, "I was flustered thinking at least ten thousand reporters would come, but Kang Leo knew my home number. When I opened the bathroom door he was there; he took the pregnancy test in his hand and hugged me tightly."
Park Sun-joo added that she was moved by her husband's calm response. "My husband went to the hospital, reassured me, and calmly discussed plans for the future. He said if you don't want to marry, you can just have the baby; if you want the child to have the surname Park, we can do that. I was reassured and moved, and before I knew it we walked into a wedding hall and had the baby," she recalled.
He said, "At that moment I felt loyalty. I thought, this person protected me this much, so I will keep loyalty until I die."
Park Sun-joo debuted in the music industry in 1989 by winning the silver prize at the 10th Riverside Song Festival with "Gwiro," and was loved for many hit songs such as "Man and Woman" and "If We Pass Each Other Like This." Her husband Kang Leo also serves as a judge on the cooking survival program 'MasterChef Korea.' The two married in 2012 and have one daughter. <
