Group Oh My Girl member and actress Hyun Seung-hee won the "global star" award.
Hyun Seung-hee won the female global star award for the drama Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born at the 7th Daejeon Special FX Festival held on the 28th.
After receiving the award that day, Hyun Seung-hee said, "I thank the director for making Chorok not hateful in Jeongnyeon, and I will cherish the trophy engraved with my name Hyun Seung-hee and work harder" She also conveyed additional remarks through her agency, saying, "I am truly honored to receive the global star award, and going forward I will take the lead in promoting K-culture widely, doing my best in activities with Oh My Girl as well as my activities as an actress."
The Daejeon Special FX Festival is the only special-effects–focused film festival in Korea that discovers special-effects technology experts and expands the industry ecosystem; it awards works, technicians and actors recognized for creativity and completeness in special-effects fields such as special filming techniques, art, props and makeup among film and drama video contents released from July 1 last year to June 30 this year.
Hyun Seung-hee appeared as Park Chorok in last year's hit tvN drama Jeongnyeon and showcased her presence as an actress with distinctive acting that drew favorable reviews from viewers. In January this year she won the "2025 promising female acting idol to lead 2025" category at the Korea Consumer Forum's 2025 Korea First Brand Awards, and with this latest award she became a two-time winner for the drama Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, achieving major success establishing herself not only as a member of Oh My Girl but also as an actress.
Meanwhile, with expectations growing about actress Hyun Seung-hee's future activities, Hyun Seung-hee is currently appearing on the TVING original "Super Race Freestyle" and on KBS1's Real Camera, Eye of Truth, which airs every Friday at 7:40 p.m.
