Lee Mi-joo, a singer and broadcaster, made a striking transformation into gyaru style, showing a different kind of charm.
On the 28th, a video titled "Mi-joo becomes a K-gyaru girl (feat. gyaru makeup)" was released on the YouTube channel "Just Mi-joo."
In the released video, Lee Mi-joo visited a gyaru makeup studio in Hongdae and embarked on a full-fledged "gyaru girl" experience.
The studio was filled with outfits and accessories that fully captured the gyaru sensibility, and a custom outfit for Lee Mi-joo was also prepared. Looking through the outfits first, Lee Mi-joo exclaimed, "It's so pretty. Am I going to get obsessed with gyaru?" showing an excited demeanor.
A specialist looked at Lee Mi-joo's face shape and explained, "You already have gyaru talent. Big eye makeup is important, and the base is good." When told that the onee gyaru style, meaning "mature gyaru," suited her, Lee Mi-joo actively embraced the styling, saying, "I'm becoming more and more gyaru. I like this."
After completing the makeup and outfit, Lee Mi-joo showcased an intense gyaru visual that caught attention even on the street. When she came out to Hongdae, she joked, "What if someone asks for my number?" but contrary to expectations, the public's reaction was quiet. Some were startled and moved away when Lee Mi-joo approached, and one person requested, "I wanted to take a photo with a gyaru," but did not actually recognize that it was Lee Mi-joo, which drew laughter.
Wrapping up the shoot, Lee Mi-joo candidly said, "I came to Hongdae for the first time in a while and didn't expect there to be so little interest. Still, it was an interesting experience."
Having recently moved her agency to AOMG and begun a new chapter, Lee Mi-joo once again proved the range of her concept adaptability with this gyaru transformation.<
