The group ILLIT captivated global music fans with a new-song stage full of unfamiliar charm.
ILLIT (Yoon-a, Min-ju, Moca, Won-hee, Iroha) appeared on KBS2 MUSIC BANK on the 28th to perform songs from their single album 1, NOT CUTE ANYMORE, including the title track of the same name.
That day the members appeared in the hip denim fashion they showed in the music video, delighting fans. They showcased an even trendier, more stylish side with crop tops and beanies. Added to that was an aloof attitude never seen before, increasing immersion in the performance.
The stage that seemed to recreate the mirror-ball group dance scene from the music video was also impressive. Expressionless ILLIT emitted a strange aura with restrained movements and delicate lines. Also, briefly smiling and then adopting serious expressions in time with the lyric "I'm not cute anymore," the members' acting captivated viewers.
The so-called "kkatdak-kkatdak dance," in which you nod your head to a loose but addictive beat, is more and more engrossing the more you watch. As ILLIT has led trends with dance challenges in various short-form videos whenever they released a new song, the easily followable key choreography this time is also expected to receive a warm response.
NOT CUTE ANYMORE is a pop song based on reggae rhythms that intuitively expresses the desire not to be seen as merely cute. Its dreamy yet cozy melodic atmosphere has been well received, and it is emerging among music fans as a winter season song.
The song is gaining popularity on various charts. It entered Melon Hot 100 at No. 8 immediately after its release on the 24th, and it hit No. 1 on Japan's AWA real-time rising chart. On YouTube's Korea trending music chart it recorded No. 16, then steadily rose to No. 6 (25th), No. 3 (26th) and No. 2 (28th).
ILLIT will continue their comeback stages on MBC Show! Music Core on the 29th and on SBS Inkigayo on the 30th. In addition, they will appear on KBS2 Mr. House Husband (Min-ju) and on the YouTube channel KBS Kpop's "Dolbagiil."
