'rookie of the year' CORTIS added a new "100-million streaming" record on Spotify.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)'s debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES surpassed 200 million cumulative streams on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify as of the 27th. The achievement came about three months after the album's release, marking the fastest cumulative 200 million plays among K-pop rookies who debuted this year.
After reaching 100 million cumulative plays in October, the album added more than another 100 million plays in just over a month. Generally, streaming numbers decline after promotional activities end, but CORTIS was different. Even though the official promotions for the debut album concluded in September, it has been streamed more than 2 million times daily, maintaining play levels comparable to the promotional period. This supports that a solid core fanbase that regularly listens to CORTIS's music has been firmly established.
CORTIS's debut album includes six tracks in total, including What You Want (feat. Teezo Touchdown), which is available only as a digital track. Led by GO! (70.89 million) and FaSHioN (60.02 million), What You Want (28.87 million) and JoyRide (22.34 million) each surpassed 20 million streams, showing that all tracks are being loved evenly.
Meanwhile, COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES, released on Sept. 8, surpassed 1.06 million cumulative sales on the Circle Chart about three months after its release. They are demonstrating both album sales, a measure of fandom size, and music streaming, which indicates mainstream appeal, showcasing a trajectory befitting the "rookie of the year."
