The '2025 MAMA AWARDS' performance by 'K-pop Demon Hunters' Lion Boys was canceled due to the aftermath of the Hong Kong fire disaster.
On the 29th, KOZ Entertainment said, "Due to the scaled-down operation of the '2025 MAMA AWARDS', we will not participate in the performance that was scheduled for that day. We ask for the generous understanding of fans."
Earlier, at the '2025 MAMA AWARDS', a real-life stage of 'K-pop Demon Hunters' Lion Boys was scheduled to take place. Participating as Lion Boys members were BOYNEXTDOOR's Lee Han, RIIZE's Wonbin, TWS's Shin Yu, ZEROBASEONE's Park Geon-uk, and Han Yujin.
On the 26th, a large fire broke out at the 32-story residential high-rise complex 'Wang Fuk Court' in Tai Po, a northern district of Hong Kong, prompting an emergency. So far, the fire has resulted in 128 deaths and 79 injuries, and the numbers may increase.
At chapter 1 of the '2025 MAMA AWARDS' held on the 28th, host Park Bo-gum led a moment of silence, and all artists and presenters wore black ribbons to mourn the victims and console those affected.
