'2025 MAMA AWARDS' Super Junior made another miracle.
On the 28th at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium, the '2025 MAMA AWARDS (hereinafter MAMA Awards)' took place.
The K-pop flagship awards ceremony 'MAMA Awards,' which has continued for 26 years, was put on alert when a large fire broke out on the 26th at Wang Fuk Court, a 32-story residential high-rise apartment complex in the Tai Po district in northern Hong Kong. The MAMA Awards said, "We plan to provide time to share sorrow and mourn together, and to contribute through donations to support the victims," and decided to be cautious about overall stage composition and production so that the performance would convey comfort and hope rather than spectacular production.
Super Junior received the 'Inspiring Achievement' award as a leader who led the K-pop wave worldwide. Shouting their signature chant 'We're Super Junior,' they received the trophy, and Lee Teuk said, "I've chanted this slogan for 20 years while sharing happy and sad times. The most important thing over 20 years together has been how much we love this work and how long we stay with our fans. We can stay together a long time only if we are healthy, not in pain, and happy, so I hope we create miracles under the name of love. Thank you and I love the ELFs around the world."
Choi Si-won said, "I offer my sincere and deep condolences to everyone who has suffered great hardship and fear from the sudden disaster. Please stay safe, and I pray for a swift recovery and restoration. Being able to be together like this for 20 years is also a miracle and is thanks to all of you who have been with us. I want to say thank you, and I want to tell you that you are not alone."
Meanwhile Lee Teuk added, "It is said that there are no artists born in the 1990s on today's MAMA Awards lineup. There are no 1990s-born members in Super Junior either. I think this is also one of the miracles."
Earlier Kim Hee-cheul said when Super Junior's attendance at the MAMA Awards was confirmed, "Is it really okay for us to go out? Looking around, they all seem like they're a generation of daughters and sons. We were even in the MKMF days," and it became a topic that among the artists on day 1 there were no 1990s-born artists.
