'2025 MAMA AWARDS' ENHYPEN and RIIZE became the first and second winners of the 'Fans' Choice'.
On the 28th, the '2025 MAMA AWARDS (hereinafter MAMA Awards)' was held at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium.
The K-pop representative awards ceremony 'MAMA Awards', which has continued for 26 years, will be held over the 28th and 29th with actors Park Bo-gum and Kim Hye-soo serving as hosts on the first and second days respectively. However, an emergency arose for the event when a large fire broke out on the 26th at 'Wong Fuk Court', a 32-story residential high-rise apartment complex in Tai Po district in northern Hong Kong.
In response, the 'MAMA Awards' said it would "provide time to share sorrow and mourn together, and support victims through donations," and decided to carefully consider the overall stage composition and proceedings so that the performances could convey comfort and hope rather than extravagant production.
Lee Jun-young, who opened the awards, said, "Before the first award, I want to offer comfort to the citizens of Hong Kong who must be in great sorrow. I pray that today's pain will recover as soon as possible. Many artists share my feelings, and I believe they will sincerely perform on stage. I hope it will be meaningful to everyone, as they have prepared with sweat for a long time to stand on the stage of their dreams."
ENHYPEN became the first recipient of the 'Fans' Choice', which is decided by fan votes. After receiving the trophy, ENHYPEN said, "First, we offer our condolences to those who suffered much damage in the recent Hong Kong fire. We don't know how much comfort our words can give, but we will repay with an excellent performance from our position," and "We are so grateful to receive the Fans' Choice. Because it is an award made by fans' votes, it is even more meaningful. We are happy to receive love, attention and support from many people. We will work harder to become ENHYPEN loved by many people in the future," they said.
The second 'Fans' Choice' winner was RIIZE. Calmly receiving the trophy and moving off, RIIZE said, "It is an honor to receive a valuable award at the 'MAMA Awards' every year. It was a busy year, and I am so grateful to the members who worked hard and stayed strong until now. I also thank the staff who make us shine," adding, "We are grateful to the fans who tried to bring us a good award and will repay them," and "We offer comfort to those who are suffering in this unfortunate situation."
