Actor Kim Won-hee revealed a long-held dream she had never told anyone.
On the 27th episode of MBN "Puzzle Trip," the story of Carrie (Korean name Lee Eun-jung), who was adopted to the United States, was revealed.
That day Kim Won-hee became choked up after seeing a letter Carrie's mother had sent 26 years earlier and the adoption consent forms. She said, "I'm also very interested in this," and Carrie asked, "What made you become interested in adoptees?"
Kim Won-hee hesitated for a moment and then said, "Should I call it my dream or my vision? A vision came to me. One day 15 years ago. Specifically, my vision became operating an orphanage facility."
With tears in her eyes as she began the story, Kim Won-hee said, "This is the first time I've talked about it on a broadcast. Before marrying my husband in our 20s, we discussed it. 'Let's not have biological children and adopt' we said, and my husband readily agreed. But after we actually married and cared for children, I thought while doing that, adopting is good but rather than that I wanted to create a facility and care for many children myself, and that feeling was so strong at the time."
She said, "So the four of us sisters all got those certifications. We got daycare qualifications, childcare worker certifications, and my younger sisters also obtained social worker certificates overlapping, so we're preparing," adding, "I don't know. But my heart is moved. So when they asked if I would do this program, I immediately said yes. I was really looking forward to it."
Seeing this, Kim Na-young exclaimed in surprise, "I heard that Won-hee unni has a dream of running an orphanage.." and encouraged her, saying, "It seems like such a fitting dream."
In response, Kim Won-hee said, "I'm cautious about talking about it. I don't know whether that dream will come true or not. But since Carrie opened up about things she couldn't tell anyone to the bottom, I wanted to tell my truth too. I wasn't going to say it. But since she truly laid bare the feelings in her heart, I thought I should show mine too so we could share equally. I really hope the dream comes true."
