Recently, solo artist Gyubin, who signed a co-production and management contract with SML (Sony Music Labels) under Japan's largest music corporation SONY MUSIC GROUP (JAPAN) and the professional management company Cube, opened the door to local activities by releasing the Japanese version of the pre-debut single "Really Like You" today (28) ahead of her official Japanese debut.
Gyubin of Liveworks Company announced the Japanese version of "Really Like You" at 12 a.m. today (28), her birthday on Nov. 28, as a special gift for global fans, heightening expectations for her official Japanese debut.
Through Gyubin's debut song "Really Like You," released in Korea in Jan. 2024, she achieved exceptional global results for a female solo newcomer, topping Spotify viral charts in seven Asian countries and reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Heatseekers chart, drawing early attention from the Japanese market.
Especially since "Really Like You" was loved and ranked highly on major platforms such as Apple Music Japan and Line Music immediately after its release, the newly released Japanese version is also expected to receive strong responses from local fans.
SML (Sony Music Labels) evaluated Gyubin's potential as an artist highly, citing her stable live performance skills, singer-songwriter capabilities, polished visuals, and proficient English and Japanese communication, and having brought her on board, it appears they will accelerate her activities in Japan starting with this pre-debut single release.
Meanwhile, the music video for the Japanese version of Gyubin's "Really Like You," who is currently actively promoting her third Korean single "CAPPUCCINO," will be released today at 9 p.m.
Through the release of the Japanese version of "Really Like You," Gyubin, who has officially launched global activities, plans to carry out various online and offline promotions with the active support of SML and Cube, aiming for an official Japanese debut in the first half of 2026.
