The group BTS added a "Gold" certification in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan on the 27th, BTS's full-length third album LOVE YOURSELF 轉 'TEAR' track "The Truth Untold (Feat. Steve Aoki)" surpassed 50 million cumulative streams as of October, earning the "Gold" certification in the streaming category. With this, BTS now holds a total of 47 "Gold" certifications, once again setting the record for the most by a K-pop artist.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan classifies cumulative song streams (streaming category) as Gold (50 million or more), Platinum (100 million or more), Diamond (500 million or more), etc., and awards certifications monthly.
"The Truth Untold (Feat. Steve Aoki)" is a pop ballad that is a unit song showcasing the refined tones and restrained sensibility of the vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook). The four members' voices harmonize over a gentle melody, leaving a deep aftertaste.
The song received renewed attention through Jin's recently concluded encore fan concert #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR_ENCORE. On that day, Jin played the piano himself and sang, receiving enthusiastic responses from fans.
BTS holds Diamond certifications in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for "Dynamite" and "Butter." This is the first and only record for K-pop. In particular, "Dynamite" achieved more than 500 million streams in the shortest time ever by the Recording Industry Association of Japan's standards and obtained the "Diamond" certification.
BTS has announced a large-scale world tour along with a new album release next spring. Recently, they have been raising expectations for the new release by sharing scenes of working together as a full group and individual updates on the global superfandom platform Weverse.
