Jung Kyung-ho begins an unpredictable second act in his courtroom life.
The new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama PROBONO, which premieres on Dec. 6 at 9:10 p.m., released its main teaser video, previewing the tumultuous public defender life that Kang Da-wit (played by Jung Kyung-ho) will face. Written by Moon Yoo-seok, directed by Kim Sung-yoon, and planned by Studio Dragon, the series is produced by Sequence One, Lotte Cultureworks and Studio Flow.
The main teaser opens with Kang Da-wit positioned in the middle of the country's largest court, the Supreme Court courtroom, and piques curiosity by showing the everyday life of a celebrity judge who receives requests for photos from visitors. Known as the people's judge, Kang Da-wit's cheerful demeanor, which suggests high life satisfaction and happiness, brings a smile.
But the peace is short-lived as cracks suddenly appear in Kang Da-wit's life just as he is on the verge of promotion to supreme court justice. He discovers an apple box and tightly packed bundles of cash in the trunk of his car. Kang Da-wit instantly senses that something is wrong and, with a cry of "No!", is left in shock.
Afterwards, Kang Da-wit is guided by law firm head Oh Jung-in (played by Lee Yoo-young) and faces a new routine as leader of the public interest litigation team. The bright and lively welcome from Park Ki-ppeum (played by So Ju-yeon), Jang Yeong-sil (played by Yoon Na-mu), Yoo Nan-hee (played by Seo Hye-won) and Hwang Jun-woo (played by Kang Hyung-seok) contrasts with Kang Da-wit's bafflement over his sudden switch to public defender work, highlighting the bittersweet reality he must lead them through.
Kang Da-wit's now dynamic work routine also grabs attention. Facing a variety of clients, he tirelessly moves between rural and urban areas and rushes to numerous scenes, unfolding a busy day. At the end, his powerful declaration, "I'm lawyer Kang Da-wit. Brace yourselves," heightens anticipation for his exploits as a public defender.
