(continues from interview ②) Actress Lee Chaeyoung expressed gratitude toward "Shooting Stars".
Lee Chaeyoung met with OSEN on the afternoon of the 26th for an interview.
She had served as the goalkeeper for FC Actionista from season 2 of SBS' Shooting Stars (hereafter "Shooting Stars"). However, she left in January last year and suspended activities, and then, after Lee Jooyeon's departure, she rejoined "Shooting Stars" again from July this year. Regarding this, Lee Chaeyoung said, "Actually, after the league ended, I thought the Actionista team would disappear. So I cried a lot at the end, but they said they would appear next season, so I became a regular cast member. Some members are changing," she revealed.
She explained the reason she chose to rejoin "Shooting Stars," "Isn't 'Shooting Stars' a sports entertainment show? Individual talent is important, but because it's a team sport, we sweated and struggled together. I liked those pure moments that come from team sports and the joy of winning. Jooyeon suddenly left because of an injury, and because the goalkeeper position is special, they needed help, so I hurriedly joined to help," and expressed gratitude, "Rather than skillful leeway, there was a bit more leeway toward people and feelings, so this program is very precious to me."
She added, "I like that it's a program you can enjoy healthily and happily. At this age, there aren't many opportunities to get together and interact. Even when working on projects, it's rare to see people for a long time, but meeting every week and exercising together at regular times made it start as a program and later become a community. With a variety of professions, it's great to observe people and broaden my horizons. From my perspective, it's a program good for mental health. If I offended someone, I feel stress, but I came to understand the feelings of those who play early-morning soccer. I wondered why people would spend their own money to get together when they'd rather rest on Sunday mornings, but by doing 'Shooting Stars' I came to understand that this is the joy of playing soccer," she said.
Recently, Lee Chaeyoung also showed affection on social media for FC Actionista and coach Lee Geunho, saying, "They pulled me out of the house before my brain melted," and, "They are truly my healing darlings, I love them so much."
She said, "When working on scripts, you keep rewriting them, right? If you read a lot of material on a genre, it feels like your brain is melting. When you keep watching related works and keep rewriting the script, you feel so dazed that you wonder, 'Did I ever live this hard before?' That was a painful time. But when 'Shooting Stars' had the Korea-Japan match, they pulled me out, saying, 'Don't just write at home, come out.' I came out and watched the match and my stress was released. They are the juniors and seniors who kept pulling me out so I wouldn't keep using my head only. I'm so grateful. I was about to become mentally exhausted, but whenever that happened they pulled me out and made me run," expressing her gratitude.
Asked whether she feared the injuries she had suffered while filming "Shooting Stars," she replied, "At first, I was inexperienced and got injured a lot. Now, even if I'm injured, I think I've learned the know-how of how to recover when this happens," while also saying, "It hurts my heart when teammates get hurt," expressing her affection for the members.
