The group Stray Kids (Stray Kids) has received a total of six new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
On the 26th (local time), according to the RIAA's official website announcement, Stray Kids received a gold certification for their fourth full-length album released last August, "KARMA" (Karma). The RIAA awards gold status to works that have recorded more than 500,000 album sales in the United States, and with this, Stray Kids now hold a total of six RIAA gold certifications among K-pop artists in the album category, following "★★★★★ (5-STAR)" (Five-star), "樂-STAR" (Rak-star), "8eight" (8eight), "MAXIDENT" (Maxident), and "合 (HOP)" (Hap (Hap)), including "KARMA".
In the single category, they added a total of five certifications, including the group's first platinum. First, the title track "神메뉴" (Shin Menu) from their first full-length album GO生 (Gosaeng), released in June 2020, surpassed 1 million single sales in the United States and was awarded their first platinum certification.
In addition, the title track "CASE 143" (Case 143) from the mini album "MAXIDENT" released in October 2022, the title track "특" from the third full-length album "★★★★★ (5-STAR)" released in June 2023, the title track "락 (樂)" from the mini album "樂-STAR" released in November 2023, and the title track "Chk Chk Boom" (Chk Chk Boom) from the mini album "ATE" released in July 2024 all received gold certifications for surpassing 500,000 sales in the United States. Previously, Stray Kids had received gold certifications for "神메뉴" (Shin Menu), "MANIAC" (Maniac), "Back Door" (Back Door), and "소리꾼"; by adding four more gold certifications, they reaffirmed their strong popularity locally.
Stray Kids, who rewrote the 70-year history of the U.S. Billboard main album chart "Billboard 200," recently set another personal record on that chart. Their fourth full-length album "KARMA" ranked 45 on the Nov. 29 Billboard 200, marking 13 consecutive weeks in the top 100. Surpassing the 12 consecutive weeks in the top 100 achieved with the third full-length album "★★★★★ (5-STAR)," Stray Kids continue their long-running popularity, and attention is focused on whether their new release SKZ IT TAPE "DO IT" (Do It), released on the 21st, can achieve an eighth consecutive No. 1 entry on the Billboard 200.
