The group SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, THE 8, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) and global popular character the Smurfs' special collaboration has finally been unveiled.
Peyo Company, which holds the Smurf rights, released the music video for "god of music" featuring SEVENTEEN and the Smurfs at 11 p.m. on the 25th. The video features popular characters from the Smurf animation and new characters that blend SEVENTEEN's personalities into the original music video.
Set against Budapest, Hungary, the "SEVENTEEN festival" and the harmony of characters representing the Smurfs are impressive. The journey of Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy, who hover around the members, highlights the song's message that the world connected by music sings. In particular, the scene in which the three characters perform the "god of music" signature choreography with SEVENTEEN brings a warm smile to viewers.
At the end of the video, many new Smurf characters made in the theme of SEVENTEEN appear and draw attention. They arrive in Smurf Village through a portal, revive the fading sound of music and continue a happy festival. From Cherry (S.Coups) to Dinosaur (Dino), the personalities of the 13 members are fully reflected in each character, adding to the viewing pleasure.
This music video was planned based on the fact that the release date of "god of music" and the Smurfs' birthday are the same, Oct. 23, and that both contents show the value of coexistence. In 2026, collaboration products between SEVENTEEN and the Smurfs will also be released.
Véronique Culliford, daughter of Peyo (pen name), the representative of Peyo Company and the original creator of the Smurfs, said, "This collaboration has fun and friendship as its core values. It is also the Smurfs' vision to bring more smiles, joy and harmony to the world," and noted, "My father Peyo would have been proud of the collaboration with SEVENTEEN."
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN recently demonstrated overwhelming global popularity by producing their 17th Spotify song to reach eight-figure streams. Their song "Whirlwind," included on their fourth full album released in 2021, had accumulated 100,912,33 plays as of the 25th. The members are scheduled to hold SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN JAPAN starting on the 27th, touring Japan's four major domes.
